Currently, our faculty consist of 5 full professors and 9 senior lecturers (assistant/ associate professors). In addition, there are currently 4 adjunct professors. About 30 new positions will be available in the coming years. This first announcement concerns 5 of these positions, 2 full professors in biological psychology, 1 full professor in psychometrics, and 2 senior lecturers, one in each of the areas biological psychology and cognitive psychology. The following is a short-version translation of the qualifications needed: Biological psychology (all 3 positions) - Qualifications in either physiological psychology, biological approaches to behavior or neuropsychology. Psychometrics: Psychological research focused on psychometrics, data-analysis and research methods. Cognitive psychology - Research qualifications in areas such as perception, memory, language, thinking, artificial intelligence, learning and problem-solving. The approach taken may be either experimentally or psychometrically oriented. Although all positions are on a tenure track, there is a required language proficiency test within two years time for non-Scandinavian English-speaking candidates. Duties for all positions will be divided between research, teaching and administration. Currently, teaching and research will account for about 47% each, and administration for 6% of the time. Teaching will include about 4 hours of lecturing per week as well as participation in supervision and evaluation of student work at different levels of study. The salary for full professors is currently about NOK 300,000 ($40,000), for senior lecturers ("forsteamanuensis") about NOK 250,000 ($35,000). Deadline for application: November 1, 1994. The application including publications (10 most important) must be submitted in 5 copies. For the full professors only, work in progress may be submitted within 3 months if listed in the application.
